What Foods Lower blood pressure

An average adult has about 5 to 6 liters of blood flowing through their bodies transported arteries, veins and capillaries. It is pumped around the body by the heart and provides oxygen and other essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins from all parts of the body including the lungs, kidneys, heart, brain and eyes. This creates blood pressure essential but that most will realize, if blood pressure is raised may become life threatening, so why should a person knows how to lower blood pressure and thus prevent any medical problems from occurring?

One of the easiest and best documented ways to reduce blood pressure is through the application of rational exercise.

One reason for the growing number of people being diagnosed with high blood pressure is that we live more sedentary lives than even 20 years ago. This led to an increase in the number of people who are overweight and have contributed to an increase in cardiovascular health problems we see in most industrialized nations.

The great thing about exercise and weight-reducing (another risk factor for high blood pressure), suppress appetite, too. Exercise also helps stimulate our body that produce a substance known as nitric oxide, which protects the lining of the arteries.

As a person exercises they are encouraging the heart to pump blood through our arteries more, capillaries and veins. Then, as the road pushes blood throughout the blood vessels and then turn forces the endothelial cells to produce nitric oxide and more so the cycle repeats.

Making changes to diet has been shown to lead to a significant reduction in blood pressure. With some studies showing a change in diet may even have the same effect as taking blood pressure medications, and course changes, if upheld, means that they can add the benefits of preventing hypertension throughout life.

Some dietary changes that make a difference include:

1. Reduce sodium intake. Sodium helps regulate body fluids and, unfortunately, an excess amount can lead to water retention, which leads to a larger volume of blood and therefore more blood pressure the heart must work harder to Pump up the volume around the body. So restrict sodium / salt diet, or eliminate it altogether.

If you can, avoid using prepackaged and processed foods as they may contain large amounts of sodium in them, because it helps to preserve food and adds flavor.

2. Increase the amount of fiber in the diet. The best way to do this is by increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables eaten. Fruits and vegetables contain also nutrients, such as potassium, magnesium and calcium studies have found that people with high blood pressure are often deficient.

There are other natural ways to lower blood pressure, including changes in lifestyle habits, the introduction of specific supplements and foods in the diet, and reduce anxiety and stress, but they will be included in future articles.
